Finally have a day off after two weeks straight of working and so I have some time to update! Camp is going well although most of the time it’s ridiculously busy and I rarely have time off
I’m getting used to the hectic schedule I think though. When I first arrived I was so distressed that there wasn’t internet or phone service but now I guess I’m more used to it? Not going to lie though, I would still really appreciate some wifi around here

There are lots of good things about camp though; there are so many great people here and I get to do so many things I would never really do otherwise
Within the first week I got to try flying trapeze in the circus building and that was amazing! I also love my campers even though they can occasionally drive me crazy, but I feel like this is really good prep for teaching in Japan since it had been awhile since I’d worked with children.
Another perk is that I’m doing a lot of my own crafting in the art department since I’m there six hours a day. This session I teach polymer clay and stuffed animal making and I also teach drawing on the side. Having those things as a job has definitely been giving me time to improve my skills a lot! The other day was a slow day and so I worked on a felt project I had been wanting to do for awhile.

The idea came from a plush I saw online some time ago. The art department had tons of cute ribbon and so I had a hard time choosing some for the scarf but I love how it turned out

Besides working on my own crafts I’ve really enjoyed helping all the kids make really cute things out of clay and felt. One of my campers is in my polymer clay class and I helped her make a little candy jar. She’s only eleven but it came out so cute~

This session I’ve made sure to start taking a ton of photos since first session of camp I didn’t take very many at all. When my new campers arrived second session I snapped a photo of some of us at the evening activity.

So that’s pretty much what’s been going on at camp, I have quite a few photos from my San Francisco trip I want to get up though – especially ones from the New People building. I managed to take a couple good photos in the second floor shop before I was promptly told that photography wasn’t allowed
I should be able to get those up next Thursday! And before I end this entry I have a single pixel to add to the pixel section.
Burger bear!!
I’m still alive!!
I’ve been without internet or phone service while working at camp and so this blog will have to be on hiatus until I leave for Japan in August. I’ve found out I’ll be in Shinjo in the Okayama prefecture though so I’m excited!
Expect a ton of updates when I’m there!
