Yesterday my sister and I decided to try and make macarons. I’m not exactly talented when it comes to cooking but luckily she cooks all the time and so she was excited about making them.
The first batch didn’t turn out so great – we made them on tinfoil and they ended up bursting out the top rather than the bottom so their feet never formed and they were difficult to remove from the foil. We also tried to make our own almond flour for the first batch and so the texture and taste was off. The second batch turned out perfect though.

We used real almond flour and baked them on wax paper so they were easy to remove. We then made some milk and dark chocolate ganache filling and mixed some crushed candycane pieces into part of the filling. The first batch had reminded me of meringues but the second batch had perfect crunchy shells and were soft and chewy inside – really delicious! I haven’t had a good macaron for months now so it was a nice treat.

We’re going to try making different flavors now. We’re also thinking of offering them for sale on my site, would there be any interest? We were thinking of charging around $6.99 for a box of six plus shipping so that the total would be $9.99. They need to be shipped with cooling packs so the shipping would be a little more expensive.
This weekend we drove down to Vegas to visit family. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t offer wireless internet and so I was offline for a few days. Now that I’m back I’ve updated the dollmaker with some new dress up pieces.

The prints are pixeled versions of Angelic Pretty’s Dreamy Doll House print. I plan on doing Milky Chan next ♥ I’ll also be adding a bunch of new hairstyles soon.
My sister got married last week, on the 22nd, and it was gorgeous. They decided to have it outside in the snow.

The whole event was beautiful, and also very very cold!
My Christmas present to myself arrived in time and I love it! I haven’t taken any photos of it yet, but here’s a stock photo.

I ended up getting an extra $40.00 off it too since one of the charms came with some jewels broken off. I easily glued them back on so overall it worked out very well.
I’m kind of sad that the holidays are over now. I love getting excited for Christmas and all the other holidays in the last few months of the year. This was my poupee during Christmas.

At least there’s still new years!
Mirukuma.com is finally up and ready! For now, I have some of my old content up and a couple new pages up as well. I’ve also moved a few of my old blogs over here since a few of them might be interesting. I’ll be adding more pages over the next couple of days and updating the dollmaker. Until then, feel free to email me with anything you’d like to see on the site/see more of!
