I have officially made it to Japan!! Currently I’m staying in Iidabashi but I’ve already visited Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku. Can I just take a moment to say that visiting my favorite stores in person was an amazing experience
After 109 I felt my life was complete
Okay, not really, but it’s just amazing to be here! I actually really really love Tokyo so far – I’ve heard that it’s dirty and crowded but to be honest I think it’s a beautiful city and it feels safer than American cities.
Unfortunately I’m only here until Thursday and then I’m flying to the more south western part of Japan, but I’m excited to start working. The kids will be adorable I’m sure! I’ll write about my trip to Shinjuku before I start down that path though~

Myself and a few other interns decided to make Shinjuku our first trip since we needed to visit Kinokuniya and pick up some books. We took the line there and stepped into a camera store for a bit to pick up a disposable camera (I left my digital at home, really disappointed about that!). Then we wandered over in the direction of Kinokuniya, but first I noticed a building with a person dressed up in a Hangry and Angry costume outside so I decided to check it out. That ended up being a very good idea because there was a Liz Lisa store inside as well as a SWIMMER/chocoholic shop.
I actually wandered into the SWIMMER store thinking it was a patisserie because they have an assortment of extremely adorable sweets outside, but was so excited when I found out it was an actual SWIMMER store
I bought a phone charm, a picture frame and nail clippers (random, I know). I’ll have to post photos later! I actually don’t have any digital photos from that day since I didn’t even think to use my iPhone camera until the next day. To be fair we didn’t spend that much time in Shinjuku anyways since I didn’t know where anything was and I spent quite a bit of time in just that one shopping building
I have tons of photos from Shibuya and Harajuku though so look out for those in tomorrow’s entry!
Finally have a day off after two weeks straight of working and so I have some time to update! Camp is going well although most of the time it’s ridiculously busy and I rarely have time off
I’m getting used to the hectic schedule I think though. When I first arrived I was so distressed that there wasn’t internet or phone service but now I guess I’m more used to it? Not going to lie though, I would still really appreciate some wifi around here

There are lots of good things about camp though; there are so many great people here and I get to do so many things I would never really do otherwise
Within the first week I got to try flying trapeze in the circus building and that was amazing! I also love my campers even though they can occasionally drive me crazy, but I feel like this is really good prep for teaching in Japan since it had been awhile since I’d worked with children.
Another perk is that I’m doing a lot of my own crafting in the art department since I’m there six hours a day. This session I teach polymer clay and stuffed animal making and I also teach drawing on the side. Having those things as a job has definitely been giving me time to improve my skills a lot! The other day was a slow day and so I worked on a felt project I had been wanting to do for awhile.

The idea came from a plush I saw online some time ago. The art department had tons of cute ribbon and so I had a hard time choosing some for the scarf but I love how it turned out

Besides working on my own crafts I’ve really enjoyed helping all the kids make really cute things out of clay and felt. One of my campers is in my polymer clay class and I helped her make a little candy jar. She’s only eleven but it came out so cute~

This session I’ve made sure to start taking a ton of photos since first session of camp I didn’t take very many at all. When my new campers arrived second session I snapped a photo of some of us at the evening activity.

So that’s pretty much what’s been going on at camp, I have quite a few photos from my San Francisco trip I want to get up though – especially ones from the New People building. I managed to take a couple good photos in the second floor shop before I was promptly told that photography wasn’t allowed
I should be able to get those up next Thursday! And before I end this entry I have a single pixel to add to the pixel section.
Burger bear!!
I’m still alive!!
I’ve been without internet or phone service while working at camp and so this blog will have to be on hiatus until I leave for Japan in August. I’ve found out I’ll be in Shinjo in the Okayama prefecture though so I’m excited!
Expect a ton of updates when I’m there!
Yesterday was so exciting because…
*
I GOT THE INTERNSHIP IN JAPAN!!!
*

So I am now officially going to be spending fall semester interning as an ALT with Interac somewhere in Japan! I’m not sure where I’ll be placed yet but I’m sure I’ll get enough options to be able to pick somewhere great! I may decide to stay for spring semester as well, but we’ll see! Another option I might take advantage of is the choice to spend part of my internship living with a Japanese host family
I think I would really like to do that!
Just in case any of you reading this are currently in college/university (or will be soon) and are interested in the program, or just generally curious, I’ll outline the process for it!
First~ Filled out the application and resume on their website and wrote an essay.
Second~ Passed the initial screening and was selected for a phone interview. The phone interview went well and so they decided to invite me to a seminar!
Third~ Attended one of the few seminars they host in the US. This was the hardest part I think! It’s the last step before they decide whether they want to hire you or not and so you’re really put to the test!
At my seminar location there were only two other people who had made it to this step in the process. I arrived to the location in smart business attire (blazer, suit pants, heels, etc) and first off there was a presentation on the company. Then we had to take grammar and personality tests. After that we were recorded while giving the mock teaching presentation we had prepared. Mine lasted about 6-8 minutes and I basically had to pretend like I was teaching English to students.
I started off with an introduction and then had to read aloud from a script to demonstrate my English. After that I did an activity teaching colors and an activity teaching different words. After the presentation is all finished they interview you for about an hour and then comes the wait! Luckily I only had to wait about a week and a half before they let me know yesterday
So besides that I am also excited about my summer camp job, which is coming up soon! I’m also visiting a friend in San Francisco after my summer classes get out on June 10th! Definitely going to be doing some sight seeing and shopping there

To keep this entry from being a complete wall of text, and to celebrate a little, I’m going to do a giveaway today! First to comment will win the items pictured above ♥ Please feel free to comment even if this is your first time visiting!
It’s been so long since my last update! With the exception of my private post of course, but that one was angsty
And password locked! So really it was no good to anyone.
Recently I moved into my first apartment though! And I have my first very own bathroom!
![]() |
![]() |
It’s a lot bigger than my dorm room and much easier to live in! Plus my roommates have been nice so far
So! Here is my new room~
![]() |
Still a little bare on the walls! I’ll fix that soon though
![]() |
It’s pretty spacious, I wish it came with a desk though! For now I just use my laptop on my bed and keep my printer and books on the chest of drawers.
![]() |
The closet gets a thumbs up from me – wayyy more room for my shoes and clothes in this one! Five points to anyone who can guess what show I was watching
![]() |
And the bathroom! I never thought I’d be so excited about a bathroom but apparently having one all to myself makes me extremely pleased. I love all the counter space
![]() |
I really have so many hair and face products, trust me that isn’t even the half of it!
Here is my newest addition~
![]() |
The Shiseido pureness facial care set with cleanser, toner and lotion. I also invested in the face scrubbing brush!
![]() |
Hopefully the set works well since it was a little pricey
I think Shiseido is more simple than other more chemical facial washes so it should turn out well.
That’s all for now, I have so much to catch up on with my blogs though so look for more entries very soon!

The pixel eggs have hatched today! You may notice that the egg design had a lot of influence over the hatchling~

If your egg hasn’t changed, refresh the page and it should show up
The hatched pixels will be available for today only! Tomorrow the pixel eggs page will be removed from the site so make sure to get yours now

I received my seminar information from Interac the other day and I’ve read over it probably a dozen times by now – I’m so excited for it (and there is a ton of information to go over)! I’m really hoping I’ll be able to land a job interning as an ALT this fall. The seminar is on May 1st and seems pretty intense. I’ll have to attend an information session and take a grammar and personality test, among other things. The part I’m most concerned about is the demonstration lesson
I guess it consists of putting together a mock lesson of up to six minutes long and presenting it to a ‘class’ while being recorded. The tape then gets sent on to potential employers in Japan. Sooo we’ll see how well I do with that! I think I’ll just need to practice a lot
Another giveaway today! This time it’s a small deco kit with some stickers, ribbons, rhinestones and pearls. As usual, first to comment wins the giveaway so even if you’re a new visitor please comment to win!

One of the few items from my Celga order I decided to keep was the skirt below
The rest just didn’t fit the way I’d hoped so I had to sell them off
![]() |
I really like this skirt though! And there are shorts built in underneath so it doesn’t feel strange to wear something so short
![]() |
If you’re wondering what’s in my pocket, it’s my amigurumi! I love handmade amigurumi – wish I could make them myself! Unfortunately anything to do with sewing just isn’t for me. I’ll stick with clay
As for an outfit rundown, the top is from Sechuna, skirt and boots are from Liz Lisa (expect to see these boots a lot, I’m currently pretty obsessed with them
) and the amigurumi is from an Etsy seller.

I’m thinking about getting my hair done soon, I haven’t dyed it in a really long time! I’d like to either get highlights or lowlights, or maybe even both
We’ll see if I can afford it after I go shopping again this weekend and pay off some bills.
And lastly I just wanted to remind everyone that the pixel eggs will hatch April 4th!
I forgot how expensive shipping from Japan can be when you buy boots. Guess how much it will cost me.
$88.00
But I want my boots so I’m forking it over. Was planning on buying from MAC when I got home but I don’t see that happening now. At least there’s only one more day until spring break
I only have math tomorrow though so it won’t be a long day at all. I kind of already feel like I’m on break actually, which is probably why I crafted a bit today
I’m going to be making some deco’d mini hats soon since I was commissioned to make a couple, so I’ve been getting the materials and clay pieces together for them. If they turn out especially cute I might start making some for my shop
I’m getting really bored of my fall clothes, but I liked my outfit today so here’s a snap of it~
![]() |
I think I need to clean my mirror
It’s probably hard to tell, but the boots have a pretty high heel. One of my new years resolutions was to learn to walk in heels and these boots were the first heels I learned to walk in! I really love to wear heels now – they make almost any outfit look classier

I finished the website layout for my sister and her husband yesterday and I guess it turned out okay? They like it a lot so I guess that’s all that matters
It’s much different than my usual style since their business is going to be a sort of club with a cafe and gaming so of course my usual stuff wouldn’t fly haha Anyways when the website is all done I’ll post a link to it so you all can check it out!
Do you ever just daydream about the things you’d buy if you had more money? I’m sure most of you do
Well, I made a little list:
1. Liz Lisa denim skirt in light blue & floral necklace in white
2. MAC lashes & lipglass & mascara
3. Spring dresses
It’s a bit shorter than I expected so maybe I’ll be able to afford it all sometime soon
What are some of the things on your wishlist?
Just added a new Angelic Pretty image, it’s from the new Happy Garden series! I’ll be adding more AP images from this series as they are released.

Are there any other brands you’d like to see images from? Just post the URL and I’ll see what I can do!
The weather has been getting a little better around here lately and I’m loving it! There’s pretty much continuously been snow on the ground since November or so, and now it’s finally melting away ♥ And I’ll have Celga shipping out my Liz Lisa spring clothes sometime this week/early next week so maybe soon I’ll be able to wear them out! When I do I’ll be sure to post outfit rundowns and photos.
Something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile is randomly post small giveaway items so I’ll be starting that today! First to comment with their email will receive the following item:

Handmade marshmallow link bracelet
Please don’t be shy about posting! And if you are the first to post, check your inbox for an email from me requesting your address so I can mail the item to you.

And just to make this entry a little more interesting, a photo of my pin board~
I collect mini perfume samples so I had to put a few of those on there. I also keep most of my necklaces on there since I wear at least two everyday and I hate when they get tangled! I’m pretty sure all of them are from either American Eagle or Sechuna – they have the best necklaces. I also have a couple Imai Kira postcards since I love her art. The rest is just a bunch of random cute things, doodles, and handmade items.
Tomorrow I’ll be adding a few new items to the shop so check back!
Another quick post for today. Just wanted to let you all know that pixel eggs are now up! You can adopt as many as you like and they will ‘hatch’ into new pixels on Easter.
Click the image above to view and adopt some pixel eggs. Just make sure you don’t edit the code or save the pixel eggs to your own computer, otherwise they will not hatch.
Let me know what you think! And, as always, I’m open to suggestions!
One more thing, if anyone is interested in buying/ordering from Sechuna I know the Sechuna LJ community is hosting a group order. The deadline is February 28 though so hurry if you want to get an order in!
